A highly motivated set of youngsters of Parashurampur and adjacent villages of Tehsil Dhanghata under Sant Kabir Nagar District in Uttar Pradesh joined hands to form MAATEE FOUNDATION, as non-governmental self-help group on 15th December, 2015. This Civil Society Organisation (CSO) as peoples’ movement is committed for upbringing better life of farming families and sustainable social development. The soil (maatee) from where life originates would sustain and flourish the welfare and wellbeing of farm families.
The MAATEE FOUNDATION registered under Indian Trust Act is not-for-profit organisation that stands for the solidarity of people in striving for economic independence and rising out of poverty conditions in Uttar Pradesh and adjacent States. Pursuing traditional skills and knowledge to develop value chains that attract the youth to pursue small and medium enterprises would be encouraged. Non-farm enterprises and farming would be linked so as to bring adequate synergy to make the people experience social and economic upliftment.

Vision
Health of the families is the foremost concern of the Foundation. The Foundation believes that healthy population can sustain the man-hours of the community and reduce loss of precious human capital due to health burden. Health management of a society is by sustained supply of nutritious food. The local availability of nutritious food has the bearing on improved farming practices with integrated farming system that can ensure the supply of nutrients. The scheme of nutrient supply to human and animal population has to be planned through the farming systems.
Mission
The sustainable development of the society through equitable and judicious utillisation of natural resources shall be the action plan of the Foundation. Assessment and cataloguing of village natural resources every three years would be undertaken to make biodiversity registers for every village. The necessity to catalogue all the traditional knowledge and practices in health and nutrition of families is paramount. These knowledge pools shall be stored as knowledge vaults in Panchayati Raj system. These repositories shall be secured in the public repository that has all security features.
